On May 13, 2005, the former Civil Aviation Administration was transformed into a statutory Authority within the Ministry of Transport and Road Safety. Mission The Civil Aviation Authority is the regulator for the civil aviation sector, in compliance with the law, standardisation and the international treaties to which the State of Israel is signatory. The CAA is responsible for promoting aviation safety, development, maximising the level of aviation transport services, safeguarding Israel's air carriers; minimalising environmental impact; implementing government policy concerning civil aviation, as outlined by the Minister of Transport and Road Safety.
